Pandit deendayal upadhyay Health Scheme
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Health Card is a health insurance scheme launched by the Government of India to provide health coverage to the underprivileged sections of society. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the beneficiaries for their medical expenses in case of hospitalization.
The scheme is a part of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and was launched in September 2021. Under this scheme, eligible families can avail of free medical treatment up to a certain amount in any empanelled hospital across the country.
To be eligible for the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Health Card, families must be listed in the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) database or identified as per state-specific guidelines. The scheme covers up to five family members, including the head of the family, spouse, and three dependents.
The health card will also provide cashless and paperless access to healthcare services to the beneficiaries, reducing the financial burden on them during medical emergencies. The scheme is a significant step towards providing universal health coverage to all citizens of India.
